I’m back from Katsucon, and I have magical girls on the brain. Here are some fun things I found around the internet this week.

Crunchyroll is experiencing competition from Amazon Prime as the platform starts to aggressively collect new shows and films for their streaming collection. Amazon Prime’s vice president stated they want to become the preferred destination for anime. I noticed an increase in Amazon Prime’s anime library last year when the Satoshi Kon films, like Perfect Blue and Millennium Actress, started to appear on the platform. Amazon Prime is getting the rights to stream the new Ghost in the Shell anime, which I’m sure will draw even more of the anime crowd. Netflix won’t be left behind with the new season of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run preparing to debut. Cosmic Princess Kaguya was also a fun, beautiful, original release for Netflix. What platform do you prefer to watch anime on?

I feel like Silent Hill: Townfall went from being maybe a game to a very real game fast. A new trailer was released on the Konami website on February 13, which was Friday the 13th! That’s fantastic marketing. Silent Hill: Townfall is now confirmed to take place on St. Amelia, a small island in Scotland. I’m excited that Silent Hill continues to terrorize new locations. It seems as if St. Amelia is bursting at the seams with secrets our protagonist—Simon—needs to remember. St. Amelia looks like it’s going to be full of cramped spaces like alleyways, which I know will send my heart racing during chase scenes. The town looks like it’s going through turmoil based on the posters in the trailer. Is it supernatural, or man-made? That is the question. What are your Townfall predictions?

Adult Swim is playing will-they-won’t-they with Sailor Moon. I originally watched Sailor Moon on Cartoon Network, and it shaped me into the anime enjoyer I am today. I keep saying I should watch Sailor Moon again, as I’d appreciate it more as an adult; I just keep finding new anime to add to my list first. I found out that Sailor Moon was meant to air on Adult Swim’s late-night programming starting from the first episode on February 23rd. Cartoon Network seems to be continuously switching out the time block for Dragon Ball Daima. As of now I believe Sailor Moon is back on the schedule, but Cartoon Network only has the rights to Sailor Moon until May. I wonder if they’re worried about starting the show and losing the rights to it partway through. I think Sailor Moon would bring in great ratings. What show would you like to see return to Adult Swim?

Another Strawberry Sundae and another week around the internet.
