Shaking your beverage 17 times is the motto of small boba tea chain Sunright Tea Studio. They claim it not only perfectly blends the drinks’ flavors together, but also makes you pause and enjoy the moment you’re having your tea. I don’t have any boba tea places near me, so I appreciate the sentiment to enjoy the moment. Every time I have boba it’s because I’m traveling and out with friends. Boba is a treat for the mall or my favorite arcade.
Boba stores have recently started venturing into the waters of corporate collaborations. Gong Cha had a huge collaboration with Final Fantasy 14 with special edition drink flavors and access codes to an in-game mount when you bought a drink. There were boba shaker keychains too, but I don’t think they lasted long at any location. Sunright Tea Studio showed up on my radar because they’re also doing a little collaboration with a little mobile game called Love and Deep Space.
Love and Deep Space took the internet by storm through advertisements that are admittedly still kind of cringe inducing. Geared towards woman, it’s simultaneously a darting sim and a guided shooter. It has its flaws though; it is a gacha game that’s easy to sink money in on a banner that involves your favorite love interest. The game pours a lot of love into the unique personalities of the love interests making a type for every girl. Sunright Tea Studio poured a lot of love into the unique drinks they crafted for each character.
The following is the special Love and Deep Space menu that starts on August 9, 2025: Xavier’s drink is a Honey Taro Frostie; I imagine it’s probably frozen matching his aloof laidback demeanor. Honey Taro also seems like a flavor that’s easy on anyone’s palate and Xavier is a character I feel like anyone can like. Zayne’s drink is a Lemon Jasmine Tea with Jasmine Tea Jelly, and I love jelly in my drink more than boba. The drink feels natural, healthy, and refreshing, matching his serious demeanor, also the fact he’s a Doctor. It has a holistic medial feel with lemon and jasmine. Rafayel’s drink feels like something he’d ask the main character to order for him. His drink is a Matcha Oolong Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Boba, the perfect drink to get the artsy juices flowing. Sylus’s drink is Grapefruit Four Seasons with Agar Boba. I haven’t met Sylus yet, but I know it fits him. Lastly Calebs drink is a Cosmic Apple Fragrant Oolong with Honey Boba. I still don’t know much about Caleb, but I know apples are his motif. Rafayel is my favorite character, but as far as flavors go, I’d probably order Xavier or Calebs drink.
I won’t be able to try this collab unfortunately as again Sunright Tea is a small chain only having locations in California, Nevada, Texas, and Washington. Still, collaborations for games and anime being features in the states feels rare, and showing support for these events shows we want more of them. I know the Love and Deep Space girls will show up to all locations for this to buy a drink that reminds them of their favorite guys. I’ve seen the birthday celebrations.
