Prepare your appetite as the party moves from the dungeon to Los Angeles. Enjoy a feast for your eyes while indulging in the sense of adventure. I hope you’re not afraid of some monster cuisine. Experience the world of Delicious in Dungeon in a whole new light at the Delicious in Dungeon Exhibition.
The Ryoko Kui Exhibition and the Delicious in Dungeon Exhibition will be featured at Art Share L.A. this summer from July 2nd to 26th. Enjoy art from the creator of Delicious in Dungeon, Ryoko Kui, and see the magic behind the scenes. The main course may be the delicious smells from the dungeon, but art from Ryoko’s previous work will also be on display. I’m glad the exhibit will be exploring and celebrating her as an artist, not just her most popular creation. It takes time to be a beloved hit, and her art is so charming yet powerful. I’m sure it’ll showcase her evolution as an artist, and I think that’s always fascinating to see.
Venturing deeper into the dungeon, the Delicious in Dungeon exhibition specifically showcases the show. Plates of replica food with plaques describing each unique dish. They look so good you may forget they’re made out of monsters. I don’t know why I love looking at replica food, and the pieces in the exhibit are art themselves. Become a part of the story with immersive photo opportunities around the exhibit. You can join the party and wear your own frog suit. There is a merch section, and I wish I knew what was on sale. Tickets are available now, and there is exclusive merch you can receive just from buying a ticket. Each ticket purchase comes with a free, randomly selected postcard with exhibit-exclusive art. When purchasing a ticket, you can also add on an exhibit-exclusive plate that I like. It’s classy anime merch.
The Delicious in Dungeon exhibition came to New York City last year, but this year it’s extra exciting. The first few days of the exhibition are at the same time as Anime Expo. For some fans, this is a huge sign that Trigger may be planning a big announcement. Anime Expo is such a huge convention and is historically the place to debut big anime news. Delicious in Dungeon became an anime darling overnight, and a second season was green-lit the moment the first season concluded. Dungeon Thursdays were weekly events for many fans. It has a special spark, a goofy story with relatable characters that aren’t necessarily safe from danger. In fact, there is a lot of danger in darkness under the surface levels of the dungeon. Originally released in 2024, it’s been a few years since fans have heard anything new about the show. This would be the perfect time to get everyone excited for season two.
Get lost in the dungeon, admire the artwork, and take some photos with your own party along the way. I think the exhibition captures the anime’s whimsical tone, bringing these monstrous dishes and cast to life. It’s pleasantly surprising to see how long the exhibition lasts. It isn’t a one-weekend event. I think this gives fans time to plan their trip to see it. If you’re looking for inspiration for your next meal, do some exploring. What’s your favorite Delicious in Dungeon meal?
