Welcome to the big top, take your seat, and keep your eyes on the center ring this week.
Mob Psycho 100 is celebrating 10 years of successful exorcisms, motivational self-improvement, and making friends. Mob is bringing this party to the United States and Canada in select theaters on Monday, July 20th. Theaters will play five episodes selected by fans. There are so many memorable episodes from all three seasons; I’m sure it was nearly impossible to pick just five to send to the big screen. Seeing Reigens’ signature salt splash in theaters would remove all my negative energy.
The Apothecary Diaries movie The Deceased Empress’ Treasure will release on December 11th, 2026 in Japan. The story is an original concept by author Natsu Hyuuga, and I feel like there’s a large mystery to be unwrapped in this film. Maomao and Jinshi travel to the southlands to return the body of a deceased concubine to her homeland. She died five years ago, and I think Jinshi senses foul play involving poison. Maomao will have the final say. A trailer was released on Toho Animation’s YouTube channel. Uncover the mystery behind The Deceased Empress’ Treasure
Sony announced this week that they will discontinue the distribution of physical game copies. Sony’s reason behind the move is that data suggests consumers are leaning more towards digital media over physical media. Fans responded negatively to this news, concerned about the legality behind digital games. If the game is pulled digitally, fans never really owned the product and lose their right to continue playing. Other businesses took this opportunity to criticize Sony’s decisions with tongue-in-cheek posts on social media.
