Fan Fest in Berlin was full of first looks for the upcoming Final Fantasy 14 Expansion Evercold. An extended trailer for the new expansion was played during the keynote panel along with a look at the new in-game areas. I love the Norse theming. One of the new classes was revealed with a trailer: The Bastion, a shield-wielding tank class. Yoshi P noted during the keynote that the second new class will be revealed at Fan Fest Tokyo. As a bonus, there was an amazing cosplay competition that showcased amazing craftsmanship and community.
Fairy Princess Minky Momo is getting an OVA. It’s been a while since Minky Momo has been animated, with the last episode of Magical Princess Minky Momo airing in 1992. She has a new modern look that still captures her 90’s flair. I’ve always liked her bubblegum pink short hairstyle. The OVA celebrates Ashi Productions’ 50th anniversary. Fairy Princess Minky Momo: Toward a Dream of Longing -A Sincere Duo will have a theatrical release in Japan on November 13th. There is a trailer on Ashi Productions’ YouTube channel; it’s a cute anniversary present.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure continues with the latest chapter of The JojoLands introducing an outlandish stand. A name has not yet been provided for this stand, so fans have named it John Rod for the time being. The stand is shrouded in mystery, showing up with no user in sight, just two rods of light that skewed themselves into a person shape. Fans are already making John Rod merch to add to their own shelves out of paper clips. I have a feeling John Rod is going to be a powerful and important part of The Jojolands.
