Diving headfirst into danger for the greater good is the way of the Helldiver. Boosting the morale of Super Earth as they take on the Terminid threat. The threat levels of the galaxy continue to rise, and they march on with no fear. Even the bravest Helldiver may feel their knees knocking when they’re the lone soul on the battlefield. Never fight alone with Private Teddy Snuggles.

Arrowhead has revealed that Private Teddy Snuggles is ready to report in with their fellow divers. Private Snuggles is in full tactical gear, sporting the classic black-and-yellow helmet and chest plate. This brave bear will drop to fans in his very own Hellpod. From the photos on the PlayStation website, I think the Hellpod packaging adds a lot to the charm of the bear. Fans can pre-order Private Teddy until March 31st, 2027, at 11:59 pm PT. This pre-order comes with prerequisites. In order to purchase Private Teddy Snuggles, fans must sign in with either a PlayStation, Steam, or Xbox account on the PlayStation website to confirm they have the achievement Fur the Cause. To obtain this achievement, players must have played 75 missions, which doesn’t sound like an outrageous number to me. Players are limited to one bear. I think it does help this brave bear get into the hands of players who will appreciate him and hopefully out of the clutches of scalpers. I wish more exclusive merchandise would consider doing things like this, given how much worse scalpers have seemed to have gotten.

I don’t know if the achievement confirmation idea came from Arrowhead, but I like to think it did. To me, it shows the company isn’t just putting this bear out to see how much money he can make, but as a trophy for players. Private Teddy Snuggles has been seen in previous promotional material and endured a heartbreaking end in the newest patch trailer. Some divers believe they can retrieve Private Teddy, while others seek revenge for their fallen friend. The stuffed animal released kind of feels like an Easter egg come to life, and a unique one. I can confidently say that fluffy teddy bears don’t come to mind when I think of Helldivers. I like to think the campaign that may keep scalpers away came from Arrowhead because they’ve seemed good-natured, at least as good-natured as a company can be. In 2024, Arrowhead donated to the charity Save the Children after players chose to save refugees over recovering tanks in-game. Helldivers came together as a community and did something good for nothing in return.

Private Teddy Snuggles looks like he would be a cute addition to the desk of any hard-working Helldiver. Possibly even tucked into a comfortable bed; he deserves it; he’s seen a lot. Maybe he’ll have a new mission reminding stressed divers to relax when they can. I personally have one gripe with this bear, and it’s that in the store photos he has no tail. I don’t know why that surprised me and made me kind of sad. What do you think about having to show an achievement to purchase fan merch?
